    What is AdBlue?

AdBlue (AUS-32) is a solution of deionized water and urea with a precise urea concentration of 32.5%. The AdBlue name may only be used when the product meets ISO 22241 requirements and the distributor holds a valid license agreement with VDA.

AdBlue is used in the SCR system (Selective Catalytic Reduction). The vehicle's pump injects the fluid automatically into the hot exhaust stream, where it breaks down into ammonia. The ammonia reacts with nitrogen oxide (NOx) and converts it into harmless compounds: nitrogen and water vapor. Result: up to 90% less NOx emissions compared to a vehicle without an SCR system.

Average AdBlue consumption is 1.5 litres per 100 km. For Euro 5 vehicles this represents approximately 6% of diesel consumption by volume, and 7 to 8% for Euro 6 vehicles.

    Which vehicles require AdBlue?

    • Heavy trucks and buses: SCR has been in use since 2004
    • All diesel vehicles complying with Euro 4 and Euro 5 standards
    • Euro 6 passenger cars: Mercedes-Benz, VAG group (VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat), BMW, Ford and others
    • Agricultural and construction equipment with SCR-equipped engines

    Why choose PrimeBlue AdBlue?

    • Delivery in Estonia within 24 hours of order confirmation
    • Over 85% of our clients have been working with us for more than three years

    AdBlue quality is critical

A growing number of non-specialist companies in Estonia are attempting to produce urea solution without a VDA license. Such products do not meet ISO 22241 requirements. Using low-quality solution causes limescale buildup in the SCR catalyst, clogging the system and damaging components that cost thousands of euros to replace. Every PrimeBlue batch meets ISO 22241 and is documented with a compliance certificate.

What happens if AdBlue runs out?

!The on-board diagnostics (OBD) warn the driver before the level becomes critical
!If the warning is ignored, a torque limiter activates: the engine runs at only 60% power
!Vehicle speed drops automatically to as low as 20 km/h
!Extended driving without AdBlue causes soot buildup in the SCR catalyst
!Exhaust gases no longer comply with Euro standards, risking a fine

    Additional benefits of using AdBlue

The SCR system optimizes engine combustion: diesel consumption drops by an average of 5%
Trucks using AdBlue benefit from lower toll rates on EU motorways
    Non-toxic, non-flammable, and non-explosive
Freezes at -11°C but does not lose its properties after thawing
